DomainName

.

The Ultimate Solution wants nothing more than to help you get a domain, help you to build your website or blog and watch you succeed! We want to make it as quick, simple and low-cost as possible. There is no catch to that. This program is another great example of how we apply our win-win business philosophy.

You win with a no cost domain name, low-cost hosting with US, free installation of a WordPress website or blog and tons of support. We win by gaining a new client and being able to serve you to the best of our ability.

Here are the specifics that we need you to be aware of.

The Ultimate Solution will purchase and register your domain name with the registry. We will ensure that domains remain registered and will be responsible for all domain name fees. You will not be the registrant and therefore you will not be responsible for any domain name fees for the duration of your rental period.

You may have US transfer the registration of your rent free domain to you at any time. The cost collected by US to complete the transfer will be cost of the domain name’s current annual registration fee plus 10% and does NOT include domain registration renewal. Upon transfer, the domain name will no longer be rent free and you WILL be named as the registrant and become responsible for the registration and any related domain name fees.

The Ultimate Solution shall grant you exclusive use of the rent free domain of your choice upon receipt of payment for hosting services with US and will continue until such time as hosting services terminate, you request termination or you request domain name transfer.

Our goal is also to help you to get the best possible domain name. We recommend names with a top level domain (.com, .net or .org) extension. Typically, these are considered to be more valuable than others. But TLD names are often not available. Regardless of what domain names are available, we will coordinate with you prior to registration taking place and we only purchase a name that you agree to.

Domain Name Registrars

A common question I get from clients beginning their website or blog research is, do you you have to use the registrar you register the domain name with to host your website? The answer is, NO.

Many registrars offer hosting services, just as many hosting companies also offer domain name registration. Although the company may have one name, the function of a registry and a hosting company are completely different.

A domain name registrar is an organization or commercial entity that manages the reservation of domain names and offers the registration services to the public. Registrar are accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) or by a national country code top-level domain (ccTLD) authority. Registrations must also be in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries.

The function of the registrar is simply to register each domain.

The function of a hosting company (web hosts) is to provide space, on a sever for storage and in a data center for databases.

International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers

We know that the way to reach another person on the Internet, we have to type an address into the url box on a computer. We type in a domain name. A domain name is a sequence of letters (a name) or a number(s). Domain Names must to be unique so computers know where to find each other.

ICANN (International Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) coordinates the unique identifiers across the world. In order to have one global internet, their coordination must be in place. ICANN also draws up contracts with each registrar and runs an accreditation system for registrars. It is these contracts that provide a consistent and stable environment for the domain name system; the internet.

From ICANN.org:

ICANN was formed in 1998. It is a not-for-profit public-benefit corporation with participants from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. It promotes competition and develops policy on the Internet’s unique identifiers.

ICANN doesn’t control content on the Internet. It cannot stop spam and it doesn’t deal with access to the Internet. But through its coordination role of the Internet’s naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet.

We encourage you to continue your research in this area on the internet.
